March Trip Report Day 1: Magic Kingdom

After counting down the days, hoping, planning, and waiting, I’m finally here! Since my last trip in January 2013, many things have changed. Here’s how the first day was…..

Having driven down on Sunday and spent Monday seeing friends and going to a movie screening, our first parks day was Tuesday. The morning was spent moving hotels (from the Hyatt Grand Cypress to the Swan & Dolphin.)

Of course day one is my favorite, the Magic Kingdom. First we went to Guest Services to get our Annual Passes and link them to our Magic Bands. The cast member there was fabulous! She even gave us free ice cream coupons and we got to chat about the new parade starting on Sunday.

The park was surprisingly crowded, but not so much that we couldn’t enjoy ourselves. After that I picked up my Birthday pin (this trip is my Birthday present)

Why is walking up Main Street always so emotional? Every single time I cry, but this trip was so much more. Disney has truly become a part of my life with this blog. When I saw the Castle and smelled the vanilla scent of Main Street USA, I just knew, I’m home.

We ate lunch at Casey’s Corner, a family tradition. I was quite sad to see that the screen and bleachers were gone, but glad there is finally more seating.

Booked our Fastpass+ on the way to the first attraction at the Heritage House. Had to wait in line for only a couple of minutes and then easily added in my three picks.

The wait for the Haunted Mansion was around 50 minutes and worth every second. It’s my favorite so I really wanted to do it first. (Check out Haunted Mansion trivia/history HERE)

Next stop the Tangled bathrooms. Wow. Being a huge Tangled fan myself, I was blown away and cracking up at all the little details.

IMG_9159We were all getting a little tired, so we stopped for a frozen lemonade at The Friar’s Nook. A little sour for my taste, but still good.

Checked in on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Looks incredible! I can’t wait to ride it in May.

Small World had a pretty short wait. Thankfully, the song isn’t stuck in my head anymore 😉IMG_9334

Sunset was upon us and so we went to another of my favorites. The TTA!!

This ride always make me think of Walt. The EPCOT model especially. Such an overlooked attraction with awesome references to past Tomorrowland.

It had been a long night Monday, so after enjoying a Dole Whip Float we headed back to our hotel to settle in for the rest of the week and eat dinner. Have I mentioned how much I love Dole Whips? I thought I would die waiting all year-long. It was delicious as ever!

I’m so glad that someone else shares the tears I shed each time I enter the park, and the feeling that it could never be too busy to enjoy myself.
