Liebster Award 2014

Every spring there’s an award to help showcase up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. It’s called the Liebster Award. (Liebster is German for dearest.)

When I first saw I was nominated for the Liebster award, I was absolutely honored and blown away. Of course there were a few reasons behind my shock and excitement. It means that people actually read my blog and like it! The day previous to being nominated, I was worrying about trying to get my blog out there and noticed. Guess I’m doing something right 🙂

I was nominated not just once, but FOUR times! Please go check out  Disney to Infinity and Beyond, Disney World Enthusiast, Mouseter Planner, and Part of Your World . Thank you!!

Rules of the award:

1.) The nominated blogger must link back to the person who nominated them.
2.) The nominees must answer the questions given to them by the person who nominated them.
3.) Those nominated must choose 11 of their favorite bloggers who have less than 200 followers to answer their own set of questions. When you are nominated. You can not nominate the person who nominated you.

Since 44 questions is quite a lot for me to answer, I’ll pick about half from each.

Disney to Infinity and Beyond:

Who is your idol and why?

Walt Disney. His life inspires me to dream and follow those dreams. He was the American hero, dreamer, and visionary, who revolutionized the entertainment industry. (See my post The Dreamer, Walt Disney for more)

What was your favorite Disney Channel show prior to the current line-up?

Kim Possible! I used to watch that show ALL THE TIME.  Foreshadowing for my love of all things Marvel 😉

Walt Disney World or Disneyland?

Walt Disney World. I’m a southern girl. Sadly never been to DL before.

If you could live inside one movie plot/setting, what would it be?

Saving Mr. Banks (so I could meet Walt and the other Imagineers) or National Treasure

Dream job?

Best book you’ve read?

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Disney World Enthusiast:

What is on the top of your Disney bucket list?

Keys to the Kingdom Tour (which I’m doing on my trip next week!)

What would you do first if you won the lottery?

Go to California and visit Disneyland, the Disney Studios, and Walt Disney Family Museum.
If you could create your own Disney attraction what would it be like?

Something to do with the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D.? Dark ride/coaster. You’re a new agent in training but then a villain (Ultron?) attacks the base to steal something (an infinity stone?) and you and your team are off chasing him with the Avengers. Ahhhh If only Universal would give up the theme park rights.

Would you be a Disney villain or hero and which one would you be?

Hero (I hope)…. Maybe Belle?

Do you prefer sun or snow?

Sun as long as it’s not too hot out.

Mouseter Planner:

What was the final push to start your blog?

My family was so tired of hearing all my “useless trivia” so I decided to find a different outlet to share.
How old were you when you first visited Walt Disney World or Disneyland?

Four 🙂
What is your best trick for coming up with new material for your blog?

LOTS of research/fact checking. I read books, listen to podcasts, read other blogs, and ask questions. I’ll spend a good 3-8 hours on each post.
What attraction would you NOT mind getting stuck on and why?

Haunted Mansion or Pirates. But then I don’t mind being stuck on rides, it gives me time to look around, notice details, and take great pictures!

What attraction would you never wait for more than 10 minutes?

it”s a Small World

Early bird or night owl?

Night owl. I hardly ever get out of bed before 9am.

Part of Your World:

What is the coolest thing you have seen in person?

Opening of Legoland Florida (I was apart of the first family in the park) or red carpet early screening of Divergent with Ansel Elgort & author Veronica Roth.

What is a must-do for you at Disney?

Eat at least one Dole Whip. Usually more.

Do you speak any other languages? If not, which would you choose to speak?

Latin and some Spanish

What is your favorite dessert?

Snack, dessert, meal, whatever you want to call it; the Dole Whip

My questions….

  1. Favorite Disney park and why?
  2. If you could interview/meet anyone who would it be?
  3. Favorite Disney parade (past or present)?
  4. Coolest/most magical thing that has happen to you while in the parks?
  5. Dole Whip or Citrus Swirl?
  6. Best attraction soundtrack?
  7. Which Disney resort would you stay at if money wasn’t an issue?
  8. If for the rest of your life, you would only be able to watch one movie, which one would it be?
  9. Most under appreciated attraction?
  10. Early or late extra magic hours?
  11. What kind attraction do YOU want to see in the parks?

And now a big round of applause for the nominees…

I loved reading all of your answers! Being in the plot/setting of Saving Mr. Banks would be absolutely perfect 🙂 I also love getting stuck on rides so I can take pictures and notice all the tiny details.

I loved reading your answers! Dole Whip is our must eat treat, as well. I’ve been going to Disney World since it opened in 1971 and I’m embarrassed to say, we only recently (about 5 years ago) tried a Dole Whip, simply to see what all the hoopla was about. We are now making up for lost time. Can’t wait to hear about your upcoming adventures at WDW.
