Star Wars Weekends 2014 Pictures

“You don’t need to see his identification … These aren’t the droids you’re looking for … He can go about his business … Move along.”

Since I was already down for the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train , we decided to spend Friday of my most recent trip at DHS for Star Wars Weekend III.

First things first. Merchandise and character meet and greets. I had to go check out Darth’s Mall. (Hahahha love the pun.) It was pretty cool seeing the remnants of the original Studio Backlot tour.      IMG_1864

After meeting Darth Goofy and Storm trooper Donald, I bought the SSW14 pin, and Annual Passholder shirt.

It’s a snack!

There was this weird really tall guy wandering around in black armor. He looks oddly familiar… Like my father? 😉

Since it was a Star Wars Weekend, of course I had to ride Star Tours!

The final (and my personal favorite) of the day…..

Legends of the Force: Star Wars Celebrity Motorcade

IMG_2204Can I just quickly talk about the 501st Legion Florida Garrison? It’s a pretty cool organization. Their website’s mission statement: “…The Legion is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work…” IMG_2233 IMG_2260 IMG_2275     IMG_2298IMG_2364IMG_2327IMG_2377IMG_2390IMG_2396

Second to last, voice of Pixar’s Hamm, P.T. Flea, abominable Snowman, and more, is John Ratzenberger. (Major Bren Derlin in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back)IMG_2541 IMG_2567

And finally the host of Star Wars Weekends 2014, and voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, James Arnold Taylor! IMG_2598

This year’s Star Wars Weekends was awesome! While I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan, and didn’t do everything they had to do, I still had a blast. Loved seeing a parade in DHS. I remember seeing the Disney Stars and Motors Parade as a kid, and this parade brought back lots of memories.

Did you go to Star Wars Weekends this year? What was your favorite part? The trivia contests? Cosplaying? Meeting stars and characters?

I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan, myself – but my family is! We were just there, too! From May 31 – June 8. Did our trips overlap? I might have seen you and not known it. What a bummer!
